Rajkummar Rao Talks About Playing a Real-Life Character in “Srikanth”

Rajkummar Rao talked about facing difficult roles in his career. He mentioned that he stays focused on the character and the story.

Rajkummar Rao is getting ready for his new film “Srikanth,” where he plays the visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla. In an interview with PTI, he expressed his hunger for more challenging roles and his desire to take on similar characters in the future.

During the interview, Rajkummar discussed his approach to selecting films and portraying characters. He mentioned, “I don’t really plan. Whatever character or film I’m involved with at that moment, that becomes my dream role. I’m solely focused on that character and its story. I’m confident that there are more opportunities ahead for me. Just a few years ago, I didn’t anticipate playing ‘Srikanth,’ but it happened. Now, as an actor, I feel more driven and passionate. I’m expecting even more challenging roles to come my way.”

He continued, “I love challenges. And, something that scares me excites me even more. And ‘Srikanth’ did that to me. I’ve never played a visually impaired man before. I didn’t know if I would be able to do it. But that’s the fun where you push yourself out of your comfort zone. There was so much research that had to be done. Whenever I get an opportunity like that, I totally cherish it.” He also added that playing a real-life character is challenging because one had to hit the right notes and he feels a sense of ‘duty’ to do justice to that part.
