Big news from South Korea’s box office! ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ has taken the top spot, knocking down the local favorite ‘Exhuma’ after seven weeks. Though ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ won, the weekend’s total earnings were lower than usual at $5.6 million.
The panda’s latest adventure made $2.81 million over the weekend and almost $6 million since its Wednesday release. ‘Exhuma’ slipped to second place but still holds strong with $81.2 million since February.
A Japanese romance, ‘The Last 10 Years,’ climbed to third place, earning $421,000 in its second weekend. ‘Troll Factory,’ a crime drama, came in fourth with $310,000 in its third weekend. Meanwhile, the U.S. horror film ‘The First Omen’ dropped to $205,000 in its second weekend, while BTS member Suga’s concert movie made $199,000, ranking sixth.
‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ disappointed with only $116,000 in its third weekend. ‘The Goldfinger,’ a Hong Kong crime film, opened in eighth with $87,800. ‘Dune: Part Two’ earned $78,900 in ninth place, reaching a total of $16.7 million since late February. Lastly, ‘The Beekeeper,’ starring Jason Statham, brought in $46,000 in its second weekend, totaling $657,000. Exciting times at the Asian box office!
