GKIDS and Anime Ltd. have secured global distribution rights for Naoko Yamada’s latest film, “The Colors Within.” GKIDS will handle distribution in North America, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand, while Anime Ltd. will manage the film’s release in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and all of Europe.
“We’ve always admired Naoko Yamada’s talent for crafting touching stories about teenage life,” said GKIDS president David Jesteadt. “‘The Colors Within’ is her most stunning work yet, and we’re thrilled to collaborate with Anime Ltd. on bringing this soon-to-be classic to audiences worldwide.”
In this film, a high school student with a unique ability to perceive the emotions of others experiences a transformative journey. Totsuko, the protagonist, forms a band with classmates Kimi and Rui, creating music that binds them together amidst friendships and budding romances.
Anime Ltd. CEO Andrew Partridge expressed excitement about the international partnership, emphasizing the shared vision to promote Yamada’s work globally.
“The Colors Within” will debut at the 2024 Annecy International Animated Film Festival, offering audiences an enchanting cinematic experience.
